(Norwich, Conn.) -- The Norwich Navigators got a clutch home run from Eliezer Alfonzo in Game One and a superb all-around performance from Seung Song in Game Two, as the Navs swept the doubleheader from the Binghamton Mets, 2-1 and 4-1, at DOdd Stadium this afternoon.

In Game One, Eliezer Alfonzo delivered a pinch-hit, two-out home run to left to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 Norwich lead. Billy Sadler pitchedtwo perfect innings to close out the victory and pick up his fourth save of the season, and make a winner out of James Garcia (5-6). Binghamton starter Ken Chenard (6-7) pitched the complete game but took the loss.

In Game Two, the Navigators jumped all over Binghamton spot starter Rafael Lopez, tagging him for eight hits and four earned runs in just 3.1 innings. Norwich pushed across single runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings before breaking things open with a five-hit, two-run 4th inning that chased Lopez from the ballgame. Norwich starter Seung Song was terrific for the fourth time in five starts with the Navigators, allowing just five hits and one earned run in six strong innings. Song (2-2) struck out a season-high seven, and picked up his second win of the season and second in as many starts. Song also helped his own cause, going 2-for-2 at the plate with a single and a two-run double in the 4th. Brian Wilson pitched a scorless 9th inning to earn his first Navigators save. Lopez (2-5) took the loss for Binghamton.

The Navigators will try to complete their first series sweep, and win what would be a season-high fourth straight game, when they take on the Mets in the finale of the four-game series tomorrow night. Lefty Brian Burres(6-3) will take the mound for the Navs and he will be opposed by Binghamton righty Phillip Humber (0-0).
