
Fisher Cats Announce 2009 Home Schedule

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH-The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, today announced their home schedule for the 2009 Eastern League baseball season. Opening Night at Merchantsauto.com Stadium is slated for Wednesday, April 8 at 6:35pm against the New Britain Rock Cats.
"We have so many great memories from this All-Star Season, but it's time to start getting excited for what lies ahead in 2009," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "We want to celebrate three more fun nights this year with the best fans in baseball and give them an opportunity to get a head start on planning for next year."
The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, make 14 appearances at Merchantsauto.com Stadium beginning with a three-game series on Tuesday, May 26. The Fisher Cats take on the Connecticut Defenders (San Francisco Giants) 13 times, the Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins) 11 times, the Trenton Thunder (New York Yankees) eight times and the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets) seven times.
The Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians), Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates), Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles), Erie SeaWolves (Detroit Tigers), Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) and Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies) will each play one three-game series at Merchantsauto.com Stadium in 2009.
Weeknight games will begin at 6:35pm in April and early May, with weekend games starting at 1:05pm. Starting on May 22, weeknights and Saturday nights become 7:05pm games. Exceptions include Educational Day Games that begin at 11:05am on Thursday, April 30 vs New Britain and Thursday, May 28 vs Portland. There will also be two Camp Day Games with 12:05pm start times on Monday, July 6 vs Portland and Thursday, July 23 vs Trenton.
New in 2009, the Fisher Cats will play three Sunday Night games against the Sea Dogs. These special 6:35pm games will be followed by Atlas Fireworks Shows on June 28, July 5 and August 30.
The Fisher Cats will also play a traditional 1:05pm afternoon game on Memorial Day -Monday, May 25- against the Trenton Thunder.

The Fisher Cats open their final three-game homestand of the season Tuesday night, August 26, against the Binghamton Mets at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.
