Potomac Nationals News Release
WOODBRIDGE, Va. - What began in April is coming to a close here in the third week of June as the season's first half is near an end. The P-Nats will return home to Pfitzner Stadium starting Monday evening for the first half's final homestand of the 2009 season. The Wilmington Blue Rocks will take a trip down I-95 to take on the P-Nats for three games before shuttling out and making room for the Salem Red Sox, who come to the Pfitz for a four-game set to take both teams into the All-Star break.
Monday evening will be Dollar Monday at the Pfitz presented by the Washington Post. All fans in attendance can purchase grandstand tickets and hot dogs for the low, low price of just one dollar. That's four quarters, ten dimes, 20 nickels, or 100 pennies, so get reacquainted with your ol' pal George Washington and comb those couch cushions for change and come on down to the Pfitz. First pitch is 7:05 ET.
Tuesday is Salute to Service Night at the ballpark where all military, first responders, and teachers get a free ticket with proof of a valid ID. Game time is 7:05 ET.
Wednesday is Belly Buster Night at the ballpark where stuffing your face is not only accepted, but encouraged as fans can pay just $12 to receive a grandstand ticket along with their fill of Moe's Southwest Grill burritos, select items from Pizzeria Uno's and neverending hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and popcorn while supplies last. It's also Wendy's Wednesday where a receipt from any one of Wendy's Old-Fashioned combo meals can get fans buy-one-get-one-free tickets at the gate. First pitch is slated for 7:05 ET.
Ladies Night comes around every Thursday night at the Pfitz where all ladies receive half-price tickets at the gate along with a carnation from Flowers in Just Hours. It is also Virginia Lottery Second-Chance Thursday at the ballpark where fans can bring in any non-winning Virginia Lottery scratch ticket for an opportunity to get buy-one-get-one-free tickets. The game begins at 7:05 ET.
Friday night is Motorboatin' Night where P-Nats fans will be treated to a boat expo outside the stadium before the game courtesy of Prince William Marina, and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a P-Nats buoy-shaped keychain! Come for the first pitch at 7:05 ET.
All season long, the P-Nats and the Northern Virginia community have been teaming up to bring you high quality baseball as well as fun for the whole family when you come to the ballpark. Saturday night at the Pfitz will be Community Day in a celebration of the partnership of both the team and the fans in the stands. Gates open at 5 ET for the 6:35 ET game time and there will be a slew of exciting and informative events taking place.
There will be Crime Prevention Techniques from the Prince William Couty Police Department, money saving tips from Burke & Herbert Bank, and the PWC Sheriff's Office will be providing Child ID's for every kid in attendance as well as showcasing an appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog! After the game, there will be a fireworks extravaganza and kids can run the bases courtesy of Glory Days Grill!
But that's not all! Also on Saturday, there will be a special appearance by Washington Redskins third-round draft pick, cornerback Kevin Barnes, who will be throwing out the first pitch!
After the jam-packed Saturday night, come enjoy a relaxing afternoon affair at the ballpark as the P-Nats will be hosting Throwback Day to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1989 Carolina League championship team, the Prince William Cannons. Game time is 1:05 ET. All the players will be decked out in Cannons jerseys and fans will be treated to loads of free Cannons merchandise all throughout the ballgame.
There will also be a jersey auction after the game where fans can bid on all the game-used Potomac Cannons jerseys with the first bids going for only $50.
The P-Nats have been asking fans to join the party all season long and on Sunday, June 21, we are all going to party like it's 1989.
Join the party all season long at Pfitzner Stadium with the Potomac Nationals! Single game tickets and mini-plans for the 2009 season are still available. For more information, call (703) 590-2311 or visit www.potomacnationals.com.
