Rome, GA - The Lexington Legends defeated the Rome Braves 4-2 Sunday afternoon in front of 2,744 fans at State Mutual Stadium. This would give Lexington a four game sweep of Rome during the home stand and this game marks the end of the first half of the season.

Rome took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a Hilton Richardson RBI single. The Legends would quickly answer with three runs in the top of the third after Chris Wallace (14) hit a three run homerun to give Lexington a 3-1 lead.

The Braves added another run in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 3-2 game after David Rohm tripled and later scored on a Kyle Rose RBI single. The Legends added an insurance run in the top half of the sixth thanks to an RBI single by Adam Bailey giving Lexington the 4-2 cushion. That would be all the Lexington pitchers would need as Rome was held scoreless the rest of the game and the Legends managed to leave town with a 4-2 victory and a series sweep.

Michael Foltynewicz (4-6) earns the win for Lexington while Aaron Northcraft (2-3) takes the loss for Rome and Jorge De Leon (10) picks up the save.

Rome first baseman Jakob Dalfonso and pitcher Caleb Brewer will be representing the Braves in the South Atlantic League All Star game this Tuesday June 21st in Delmarva, Maryland.

Rome will begin the second half of the season with a four game road series in Asheville next weekend before returning home on Monday June 27th to begin a seven game home stand against Savannah and Charelston.
