First 2,500 Fans at Sunday's Lynx Home Opener to Receive 2011 Magnet Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - In celebration of the team's 13th year of WNBA basketball in the Twin Cities, the Minnesota Lynx will hand out commemorative 2011 team magnetic schedules, presented by Best Buy and Identisys, to the first 2,500 fans in attendance at Sunday's Home Opener vs. Candace Parker and the Los Angeles Sparks. Tip for Sunday's contest is set for 2:30 pm.

"We are very excited to see our talented roster hit the Target Center court for the first time on Sunday," said Lynx Chief Operating Officer Conrad Smith. "Sunday's Home Opener is not only the beginning of what we expect will be a special 2011 season, but it's also a celebration of 13 years of women's basketball in the Twin Cities. We encourage families, groups and people of all ages to come down to Target Center on Sunday to watch the best female athletes in the world."

The Lynx will also host a pre-game party on the Target Field Plaza before Sunday's game. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., fans are invited out to take in some of Minnesota finest local bands and mingle with Lynx personnel before heading to Target Center.

Sunday's giveaway is the first of three over the course of Minnesota's 17-game schedule. On August 20, as part of "Back to School Night," the first 2,500 fans will receive a Lynx lunch bag, courtesy of Old Orchard, Cub Foods and Creative Resources. On August 26 when the Lynx take on the San Antonio Silver Stars, the first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a Maya Moore bobblehead, courtesy of Target.

The Lynx will tip off their 2011 regular season schedule on Friday, June 3 against the Los Angeles Sparks. Tip for the season opener at Los Angeles is set for 10:00 p.m. CT, with NBA TV providing live coverage. Fans can also watch online as part of WNBA Live Access on wnba.com, and listen to the contest on the radio home of the Lynx, BOB 106.

Season, group and single-game tickets are all on sale right now. Lower-level season tickets are available for as little as $150, lower-level single-game tickets can be purchased for as low as $10 and groups of 10 or more can purchase lower-level single-game tickets for as little as $8.
