ABOUT LAST GAME: The Fireflies have taken the first two games of the series against Augusta with a 2-1 victory in 10 innings on Saturday night. Quinn Brodey walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th to clinch the sixth walk-off win of the season. David Peterson logged a career-high eight innings and 10 strikeouts and all nine batters in the Fireflies order reached base safely.
THE MIDLANDS' CHAMPION: Ali Sanchez belted another pair of hits on Saturday. Columbia's catcher is 8-for-his-last-16 at the dish over the past four games with three doubles and a pair of home runs.
WHAT'S AT STAKE: Columbia aims to sweep an opponent for the second time this season with a win on Sunday. The Fireflies previously swept Greenville at Fluor Field from April 16-18. This would provide a little revenge for Columbia: Augusta previously swept the Fireflies at SRP Park from April 27-29.
STREAKIN': Outfielder Raphael Gladu extended his franchise-record hit streak to 23 straight games on Saturday. Gladu's 23-game streak is the longest in all of low-A baseball in 2018 and one of the longest active streaks in professional baseball. Gladu is hitting .365 (31-for-85) during the hit streak.
Longest Active Hitting Streaks in MiLB & MLB:
1. Randy Cesar (Corpus Christi Hooks - HOU, AA) - 31
T-2. Raphael Gladu (COLUMBIA) - 23
T-2. Mauricio Dubon (Colorado Springs Sky Sox - MIL, AAA) - 23
STREAKIN' x2: Gladu is also on a 28-game on-base streak, which is two behind the franchise-record 29-game on-base streak that Jeremy Vasquez recorded from April 5-May 6 of this year.
WALK IT LIKE I TALK IT: Columbia is one of two teams in MiLB with three players leading their respective league in total walks, the other being the Fresno Grizzlies (HOU):
