A BREATHER: Monday was the first league-wide off day in the South Atlantic League. The Fireflies played 18 games in 18 days, including a double-header at Rome on April 12 due to a weather postponement.

ABOUT LAST GAME: Columbia had its four-game winning streak snapped Sunday, falling to Greenville, 5-1, at Fluor Field. Vinny Siena picked up two more hits and finished 9-for-16 at the plate during the four-game series against the Drive.

SIENA SURGES: The Fireflies' second-baseman is the only player in the SAL to reach base safely in all 18 games this year. In all of professional baseball, only the Twins' Joe Mauer has a longer consecutive on-base streak (19 games). Siena's on-base percentage (.487) is tied for first in the SAL and his .368 batting average is good for 6th in the SAL.

A DASHING STRETCH: First-baseman Dash Winningham is currently on a six-game hitting streak. He's gone 11-23 (.478) at the plate during the stretch and has raised his batting average by 111 points. The Ocala, Florida, product has also clubbed three doubles and driven in four runs during the span.

TUCK EVERLASTING: Outfielder Tucker Tharp has hit safely in all eight games he's played in this season. The former Kansas Jayhawk is 10-30 at the plate with three doubles.
