Flint, Mich.- Nicholas Caamano scored twice, Ryan Moore recorded two points and Hakon Nilsen recorded his first point of the season as the Firebirds fell to the Greyhounds' 5-3 before more than 3,000 fans at the Dort Federal Event Center Saturday night.

The Firebirds started the scoring 3:29 into the first frame after Nicholas Caamano (Dallas Stars) scored his eighth goal of the season after the puck deflected off his skate and into the Sault Ste. Marie goal. Caamano chipped the puck behind the net after out-muscling a defender and Moore took the puck away from a Greyhound player and centered it. The puck banked off a Caamano's skate in-front of the net and found twine to earn the Firebirds a 1-0 lead.

51 seconds later, Zachary Senyshyn (Boston Bruins) tied the game with his fifth goal of the season. Conor Timmins received a pass at the Firebird's blue-line and skated into the zone. Timmins turned around and slid the puck to Senyshyn at the left-circle who weaved his way through a couple defenders and beat Forrest five-hole to tie the game 1-1.

The Greyhounds doubled their lead after Morgan Frost scored his eighth goal of the season on the power-play. Bobby MacIntyre collected a pass in the neutral zone on the right-wing-side and skated into Flint's zone. MacIntyre dipped his shoulder and fed a pass to Otto Makinen in front of the net, who got robbed by Forrest, but Frost cleaned-up the rebound to make the score 2-1.

Calvin Martin netted his second goal of the season at the 14:56 mark of the opening period off a one-timer. Frost received a pass in the neutral zone and gave the puck to David Miller on the right-wing-side who had a step on a defender. Miller dished a pass to Martin on the left-side of the net before beating Forrest short-side to earn the Greyhounds a 3-1 lead.

Sault Ste. Marie extended their lead to three after Hayden Verbeek scored his fifth goal of the season with 1:06 remaining in the first period. Verbeek corralled a loose puck in the left-wing-corner and passed the disc behind the net to Boris Katchouk. Katchouk dished a pass to Tim Gettinger in front but was robbed by the right-pad of Forrest. The puck popped out behind him and Verbeek tapped it in to make the score 4-1. The Greyhounds heavily outshot the Firebirds 20-5 after 20 minutes of play.

Flint cut the deficit to two at the 3:51 mark of the second period when Caamano scored his second goal of the night and ninth of the season after he poked in a rebound on the power-play. Caamano won a puck-battle on the left-wing-side of the Greyhound's zone and fed a pass to Luke Kirwan at the right circle. Kirwan backhanded the puck to the net that was saved with the right-pad of Joseph Raaymakers. The rebound kicked-out in the crease where Caamano tapped the puck in while fighting off a defender to make the score 4-2. Flint fired 12 shots on net in the second period, compared to the Greyhound's five.

Moore made it a one goal game after he scored his team-leading 14th goal of the season 2:17 into the third period off a one-timer. After Hakon Nilsen dished the puck to Dane Johnstone, Johnstone chipped the puck off the boards and around a defender at the Greyhound blue-line for a two-on-one. Johnstone fired a pass to Moore on the left-side of the net who beat Raaymakers
