
Firebirds Host Sudbury Friday, Kitchener Saturday in Flint

The Firebirds return home to Flint for an action packed weekend against two teams that will make their first visits to the Dort Federal Event Center this Friday and Saturday.
The Sudbury Wolves will travel to Flint Friday for Relay for Life night. As a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society (ACS), fans can mention the code RELAY to the Dort Federal Event Center box office or online at ticketmaster.com and $5 from a $15 Silver level ticket will be donated to the ACS. Also, courtesy of Creative Foam, beaded necklaces will be passed out to all fans in attendance Friday and everyone is asked to wear purple.
Along with Kyle Capobianco (Arizona) and Matt Schmalz (Los Angeles) being Sudbury's two players that are already drafted in the National Hockey League, Two other Wolves are listed on the NHL Central Scouting's Midterm list which ranks North American skaters eligible for the 2016 NHL Draft this June in Buffalo, NY. Dimitry Sokolov is ranked #91 and Alan Lyszczarczyk is ranked #119.
On Saturday, the Firebirds will host the Kitchener Rangers also for the first time at the Dort Federal Event Center for Military Appreciation night. All active and retired military personnel will receive a complimentary Silver level ticket with valid ID. The Rangers are ranked fourth out of 60 teams in the CHL in the BMO CHL Top-10 Rankings which are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.
The Rangers have five players drafted in the NHL consisting of Jeremy Bracco (Toronto), Miles Liberati (Vancouver), Ryan MacInnis (Arizona), Nick Magyar (Colorado) and Luke Opilka (St. Louis). Adam Macherin is ranked #57 and Connor Bunnaman is listed as #81 among North American skaters for the NHL Draft.
Flint's Will Bitten, Nicholas Caamano and Luke Kirwan are also expected to be selected in the 2016 NHL Draft this summer. Brent Moran (Dallas), Alex Peters (Dallas) and Vili Saarijärvi (Detroit) are the three Firebirds' players that have already been drafted in the NHL.
