
FireAntz Re-Sign Piro

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that Josh Piro has agreed to terms for the 2007-08 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The club has also signed rookie forward Cory Caouette from Brown University.
Piro, a 6'1'', 195-pound center from Johnstown, PA returns to the FireAntz for his second year with the club. In 56 games last season Piro tallied 10 goals, 27 assists, 37 points and 109 penalty minutes. Piro was one of only four players to play in each game, including all eight games in the playoffs, last season.
"I am thrilled to be back with the FireAntz and am looking forward to the challenge of defending the cup." Piro said, "It was an unbelievable experience to win a championship for Fayetteville and all of the great fans."
Caouette, a 6'0'', 195-pound forward from Spruce Grove, AB joins the FireAntz for his first professional season. He was a college teammate of Jarrett Robertson and Dylan Row at Brown University. In 94 games at Brown, Caouette had 11 goals, 14 assists, 25 points and 78 penalty minutes.
