Louisville Fire News Release

Louisville Fire wide receiver/defensive back Tony Stallings has missed half of the Fire's 14 games in 2004. While Stallings' teammates were putting together the best season in the history of the Fire, Stallings was filming a reality show for Animal Planet called King of the Jungle 2.

Stallings left the Fire after their May 1 game at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to begin filming the show from a secret location. Stallings rejoined the Fire in time for the Fire's June 5 game against Quad City and then had to leave again for three weeks and returned for the Fire's home game against Columbus. Due to confidentiality agreements Stallings is not allowed to say where he was or who won the contest.

"When Tony came to us and said he had this chance we hated to see him leave," commented Fire Head Coach Tommy Johnson, "but this was an opportunity he could not pass up and we gave him our blessing to go to the jungle."

King of the Jungle is a Survivor style contest in which contestants compete in various challenges involving wild animals. The winner of the show will host their own show on Animal Planet. The season premier of King of the Jungle will be tonight on Animal Planet at 8:00 p.m. Stallings and the rest of the Fire will be at the Cardinal Hall of Fame Café, on Crittenden Drive, after practice tonight to watch the show.

The Fire will return home, for the final home game of the 2004 regular season, this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Freedom Hall to take on the Green Bay Blizzard. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Fire t-shirt courtesy of GMAC Financial. Tickets can be purchased by calling (502) 368-0009 or visiting Ticketmaster.com.
