Fire Midfielder Cuauhtemoc Blanco Named To Mexico Roster For Qualifiers

CHICAGO, IL (Aug. 25, 2009) - Chicago Fire midfielder Cuauhtémoc Blanco has been named to the Mexican National Team's roster for World Cup Qualifiers against Costa Rica and Honduras.

Blanco and Mexico first face Costa Rica on September 5th at Saprissa Stadium (9 p.m.) before returning home to play Honduras on September 9th in Mexico City at Estadio Azteca (8 p.m. CT).

Blanco has suited up with Mexico for six previous 2010 World Cup Qualifying matches, most recently starting and playing 55 minutes in Mexico's 2-1 win over the U.S. Men's National Team in Mexico City on August 12th.
