Wizards Community Appearance Update

The Kansas City Wizards will be busy in the community this week, including two player "pop-ins" at local youth soccer practice sessions. Thursday, Defender Jimmy Conrad and other players will join members of the KCW Wives Club to donate school supplies collected during the Stuff the Bus Drive on July 25 to children at Northeast K-8 of the Kansas City, Missouri School District. Technical Director/Interim Head Coach Peter Vermes and Overland Park native Matt Besler will take part in the opening ceremonies of the new Overland Park soccer complex Friday.

Who: D Rauwshan McKenzie

When: Tuesday, August 25, 5:30-7:00pm

Where: Franke Soccer Fields, Lee's Summit, MO

What: Summit Soccer Club players will have the opportunity to get some pointers from a pro, as defender Rauwshan McKenzie will "pop-in" to help with their practice and talk to the children about teamwork.

Who: D Jimmy Conrad, TBD Wizards Players

When: Thursday, August 27, 1:45-2:45pm

Where: Northeast K-8, Kansas City, MO

What: Kansas City Wizards players and their wives will be making a donation of school supplies and then spend time working through soccer drills with children at Northeast K-8. The donation will help kids get off to a good start his school year, and players will have some kind words to pass along to the kids.

When: Thursday, August 27, 1:45-2:45pm

Where: Millcreek Soccer Fields, Shawnee Mission, KS

What: KC Fusion players will have the opportunity to get some pointers from a pro, as midfielder/forward Davy Arnaud will "pop-in" to help with their practice and talk to the children about teamwork.

Who: D Matt Besler, Technical Director/Interim Head Coach Peter Vermes

When: Friday, August 28, 5:00-6:00pm

Where: Overland Park Soccer Complex, Overland Park, KS

What: Matt Besler and Peter Vermes will participate in the Opening Ceremonies for the Overland Park Soccer Complex, speaking to the audience about the importance of soccer in Kansas City. They will be on hand to answer questions about youth soccer and will also be available for autographs.
