SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, August 25, 2009) - Real Salt Lake (7-9-6, 27 pts.) will play the middle leg of its three-game week tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, when it welcomes fellow "MLS Class of '05" member Chivas USA (10-7-3, 33 pts.) to Rio Tinto Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. MT kickoff, presented by PEPSI. There will be no local television coverage for tomorrow's contest, but those fans that can't make it to Sandy can follow the action live on RSL's official radio partners - KALL 700 Sports (coverage beginning with the America First Credit Union Pre-Match Report at 6:00 p.m.) and "Ke Buena" 1600-AM. Tickets for Wednesday's contest are still available and can be purchased via the internet at www.RioTintoStadium.com or in person at the Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office or the RSL Team Store, both of which will open at 10:00 a.m. MT on gameday.
RSL and Canyons School District Present "Back to School Night" for Wednesday's Contest
Real Salt Lake and Canyons School District are partnering to give the newly formed district's 33,000 students buy-one-get-one-free ticket vouchers for RSL's Wednesday evening contest against Chivas USA as part of "Back to School Night" at Rio Tinto Stadium. In addition to the discounted ticket offer, Real Salt Lake is offering a "Kids Eat Free" special for Wednesday night, with Canyons students able to pick up a meal voucher for a hot dog, popcorn and soda from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at all Rio Tinto Stadium gates. The joint back-to-school program aims to illustrate that education is the ticket to a successful future and marks another step forward between Canyons and Real Salt Lake, which this summer hosted Canyons School District Night to help usher in the District's July 1 kickoff.
In celebration of Canyon School District's first day of classes and to underscore the importance of education, RSL will be distributing the discounted ticket vouchers at each of the district's schools on Wednesday morning. One school will have a special visitor distributing the vouchers, as Real Salt Lake mascot Leo the Lion will stop by Sandy Elementary, which will roll out the red carpet for students and Leo from 7:45-8:10 a.m. MT:

Gates to Rio Tinto Stadium for the contest will open at 6:00 p.m., 60 minutes prior to the 7:00 p.m. event. Media Will Call (west side Box Office) will open at 5:00 p.m. for media members needing to collect day-of-game credentials and parking passes in advance of the contest.
The Rio Tinto Stadium Box Office and Ticket Will Call windows will open at 10:00 a.m.
The popular Carnival Real pre-game festival on the east lawn of Rio Tinto Stadium opens up at 5:00 p.m.. At tomorrow's edition of Carnival Real, the Davis County H.S. Drumline will be providing the pre-game beats as part of the "Back to School Night" at Rio Tinto Stadium, fans 21-and-over visiting the Anheuser-Busch booth can sign up to be that night's "Designated Driver of the Game," and that night's radio partners - 101.9 FM "The End," "La Gran D" 102.3 FM, and KFAN 1320 AM - will join the English radio home of RSL, KALL 700 Sports, with a presence in the pre-game festival. As always, kids are invited to take part in the carnival area, featuring a 3-v-3 field for pick-up play, inflatable games, the Burger King Whopper-Hopper and much more!
The Real Salt Lake Team Store will help get fans in gear for tomorrow's contest by extending its "Item of the Week" special - the authentic RSL/adidas home long-sleeved jersey for $70 (a 30% savings) - throughout the contest. While at the game, fans can also stop by the popular "U-$20 Booth" on the East concourse (across from Section 37) to pick up pieces of officially-licensed RSL merchandise priced under $20 - which will be discounted a further 10% off for each RSL goal scored on the night (limit of 40% off).
Real Salt Lake Season Ticket Holders that have yet to pick up their special-edition 2009 scarves and All-Star Game T-shirts can pick up those items at the RSL Ticketing Department booth, located on the stadium's North Concourse.
KALL 700 Sports will be taking the America First Credit Union Pre-Match Report and Rocky Mountain Chevy Dealers Post-Game Show to the masses, with hosts Spencer Checketts and Trey Fitz-Gerald starting the festivities at 6:00 p.m. at the KALL 700 Sports booth on the northeast concourse. After the game, the duo will switch sites to Budweiser's Club Real on the second level of Rio Tinto Stadium, where all fans are welcome to join in the post-game fun and give their two cents on the match while enjoying the club's complimentary nacho bar.
