It's 2001 Guatemalan League title is the team's first in six years since 1994 and 19th championship title overall. The team is looking to leading scorer in the Guatemalan League Guillermo "El Pando" Ramirez (six goals) to lead the team, along with forwards Gonzalo Romero and all-time leading international goal scorer Juan Carlos Plata. Goalkeeper Edgar "El Gato" Estrada will be between the pipes to help backstop the squad. The "Rojos" have one FC Champions Cup trophy from 1974 to its credit.
