Vancouver Giants News Release

Along with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society (GVFBS) and Nando's Flamed Grilled Chicken Restaurants the Vancouver Giants have announced an exciting new project for their game on Friday December 11th at the Pacific Coliseum against the Kamloops Blazers.

The Giants will be working with high schools throughout the Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and North Shore areas, along with the GVFBS to help raise money and non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank by Filling the Rink on Renfrew.

Participating high schools will be hosting ticket drives - offering tickets at a specially reduced price of $10.00 - and collecting non-perishable food donations for the Food Bank. For every ticket sold, $2.00 will be donated to the GVFBS as they continue to provide food for up to 25,000 people per week in the Vancouver area. The Food Bank purchases such large quantities of fresh fruits, vegetables and eggs for those in need, they are able to turn every $1.00 donation into $3.00 worth in food with their buying power.

The schools will compete to collect the most food and raise the most funds, with the opportunity to win great prizes provided by the Giants, including season tickets, Michael Buble autographed memorabilia and a free lunch for their school from Nando's Flame Grilled Chicken Restaurant.
