The Fightin Phils (55-72) dropped both games on Saturday night as the Binghamton Mets (76-50) won game one by a score of 2-1 and game two by a score of 7-3. The Fightin Phils are still winless against the B-Mets this season.

In game one, Jesse Biddle (3-10) looked solid out of the game as he only gave up three hits and issued one walk in his first three innings. He was matched by Daisuke Matsuzaka of the B-Mets as he only gave up just one hit through the first three innings.

Binghamton got to Biddle in the top of the 4th inning as after issuing two walks to Brian Burgamy and Jayce Boyd, Darrell Ciciliani hit a RBI single to score Burgamy. Biddle struck out Dustin Lawley then got Juan Centeno to fly out to left field. Wilfredo Tovar was hit by a pitch in the next at-bat which loaded the bases. Daisuke Matsuzaka walked with base loaded to bring in the second run of the inning and give Binghamton a 2-0 lead. Biddle would leave the game after the bases-loaded walk.

Mike Nesseth took over for Biddle and pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball as he gave up one hit and one walk with one strikeout. The Fightins scored a run in the bottom of the 6th inning to cut Binghamton's lead to 2-1 as Peter Lavin scored on a wild pitch from Matsuzaka.

Seth Rosin entered the game in the top of the 7th inning and allowed just one hit with one strikeout in his inning of work. Daisuke Matsuzaka (1-0) received the win as he pitched six innings for the B-Mets and allowed just one run off three hits with three strikeouts.

Brock Stassi had two of the three hits for the Fightin Phils as he singled and doubled.

Jake Fox struck out in the next at-bat while Aaron Altherr hit a three-run home run off Pill to give Reading a 3-0 lead. The home run was Altherr's fourteenth of the season.

The B-Mets came right back in the top of the 3rd inning against Loewen as they scored two runs to cut the Fightins lead to 3-2. Wilfredo Tover scored on an error by Jake Fox and Brian Burgamy brought in a run on a fielder's choice to score Tyler Pill.

Jayce Boyd hit a pinch hit single before Loewen left the game. Nefi Ogando entered the game to face Kyle Johnson and struck him out to end the inning.
