Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa - As an organization, the Dubuque Fighting Saints have established a rich tradition. That tradition will be celebrated during Saint4Life Weekend on January 12 and 13 as the team hosts the Youngstown Phantoms at the Mystique Community Ice Center. In concert with this celebration, the Fighting Saints will unveil a new, special jersey to commemorate that tradition of excellence at puck drop on January 12.
The sweater will be worn on seven different occasions this season: January 12, January 13, February 3, February 16, March 9, March 30 and April 6.
"We know our organization has a tradition of winning, and that tradition is all based on one phrase that Jim Montgomery coined in his first season here- being a Saint for Life," said Vice President Katie Kenne. "We know our fans have rallied around this idea since then, and we want to make this celebration the best it can be with something extra special."
Saint4Life Weekend will showcase messages from players from the past, and a reminder of the excellence that this organization has put forth since 1980. Five Clark Cup championships, multiple national championships, the development of NHL alumni such as Gary Suter, Johnny Gaudreau, Mike Matheson, Peter and Chris Ferraro, Mark Mowers, coaches like the legendary Jack Barzee, St. Cloud State head coach Bob Motzko and Montgomery.
As an added benefit to the weekend series, the games will feature the two teams currently tied for first place in the Eastern Conference. The first 1,000 fans to the January 12 game will receive a Jim Montgomery bobblehead, and January 13 is our second River Museum Family 4 Pack. Starting at $48, fans can receive four tickets, four slices of Papa John's pizza, four small sodas, two unlimited Kids Zone bracelets, and two free children's admission to the National Mississippi River Museum.
Tickets for this unforgettable weekend are available by calling the box office at 563.583.6880, or by going to DubuqueFightingSaints.com.
