Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The Fighting Saints will play the first of two weekend games on the road against the Indiana Ice tonight. The Fighting Saints enter tonight's game winners of five of their last six contests, with three of those victories coming in overtime or shootout fashion. Dubuque swept the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in a weekend series last week, winning 3-2 in a shootout on Friday in Cedar Rapids, and shutting out the RoughRiders 3-0 at home on Saturday.
The Ice have dropped their last two games - and three of their last five. After a 7-2-0 start to the season, the Ice have slipped to 11-7-2 in the current standings - good for fourth place in the Eastern Conference. Indiana's scoring attack is led by veteran forward *Daniil Tarasov*, who is second in the USHL with 26 points (12 G, 14 A).
After the two games against the Ice are played, the Fighting Saints will have only one weekend of hockey left before the Christmas break. The team will host the Lincoln Stars and the Waterloo BlackHawks in Dubuque next weekend. Those two games will begin a stretch of six consecutive home games for the Fighting Saints, a stretch that will take the team into the New Year.
Pregame starts on Dubuque's Super Hits 106 and SuperHits106.com at 5:35 CST.
