Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa - For the third time in eleven days, the Fighting Saints will matchup with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders tonight. After a shootout victory in Cedar Rapids last night, the series moves to the Mystique Community Ice Center this evening at 7:05. The Fighting Saints got off to a 2-0 lead last night, and outshot Cedar Rapids 16-3 in the first period. Despite this advantage, the RoughRiders scored once in the first and once in the third to force overtime. The shootout heroics of *Shane Sooth*lifted the Fighting Saints to a victory once again, as Cedar Rapids dropped their sixth overtime game of the season.
After winning five of six, the RoughRiders have hit a difficult stretch, winning only one of their past seven games. Four of their six losses during this period have come in overtime or shootouts. The RoughRiders are 4-0-3 at home, but have a record of only 4-4-3 away from The Stable.
The Fighting Saints will hit the road next weekend, travelling to Indiana to play the Ice for two games on Friday and Saturday. After the weekend away from the Key City, the team will return to Dubuque for their next six games, which will take them into the New Year.
Pregame on the Mystique Casino Fighting Saints Radio Network starts on Dubuque's Super Hits 106 and SuperHits106.com at 6:40.
