Ice Trade for Proven Winner Doherty

INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice announced today that the team has acquired forward John Doherty from the Dubuque Fighting Saints for forward Cody Bradley. Doherty will wear #16 in his debut with the Ice sometime this weekend.

Doherty was a key component on Dubuque's 2011 Clark Cup Championship team as he played in all 11 playoff contests and produced two goals and two assists. In parts of two seasons with the Fighting Saints, the Elmhurst, IL native played in 57 games and recorded 11 goals and 14 assists. In 18 games this year, he has compiled four goals and four assists.

"John is a high-end competitor," said Ice head coach Kyle Wallack. "He plays at a fast pace, brings leadership and he has won everywhere he has played."

Bradley appeared in 67 games with the Ice in parts of two seasons and registered 14 goals and 14 assists.

The Ice prep for a weekend doubleheader against the Green Bay Gamblers with games tonight at 7 pm and Sunday at 3 pm from Pepsi Coliseum.
