Frisco Fighters News Release
FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco Fighters have re-signed running back Boom Williams to the 2023 roster. Williams brings both collegiate and pro level experience with him.
With a 5 foot 9, 185-pound frame, Williams played three seasons as a Wildcat at the University of Kentucky, accumulating over 120 points and rushing over 1100 yards his junior year, earning him a place in Kentucky history as only the ninth player to ever surpass 1000 yards in a season. Williams cut his college career a year early and acquired some pro experience with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Williams joins the Fighters after playing for the Northern Arizona Wranglers, totaling over 50 rushing yards, 89 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns in eight games.
"Boom came to us last year late as a dynamic running back," said head coach Billy Back. "We liked him from the start, unfortunately for him we had the top ground game in the league last season. This season he's coming in from the jump to compete for the job. Already knowing the offense and a feel for the system and staff, we feel with his playing background, and the attributes he brings we can be even more dynamic this season."
The Frisco Fighters return to the field next spring for the 2023 season. Squadron Memberships are on sale now and single-game tickets will be available at a later date.
