Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever and ProLiance Energy are teaming with the United Way's BackPack Attack Program. The goal is to support a city-wide initiative to provide 29,000 Indianapolis Public Schools students in grades K-12 with the proper needs for the upcoming school year.

On Thursday, July 24 when the Fever takes on the Minnesota Lynx (Conseco Fieldhouse, 7:00 p.m.), the team is asking its fans to support this worthy program by donating a backpack or school supplies. Fans who make a donation will receive a complimentary Pepsi soft drink and an autographed photo of rookie Khadijah Whittington, a recent graduate of North Carolina State University.

The BackPack Attack Program is an annual community school supply drive to benefit children in the Indianapolis Public Schools and throughout Marion County.

The Fever, 11-11 prior to this week's games at Chicago (Tuesday) and against Minnesota, travels to Sacramento and Phoenix this weekend before breaking until August 28, to accommodate the Olympics in Beijing, China. Led by WNBA All-Stars Tamika Catchings, Katie Douglas and Tammy Sutton-Brown, the Fever bids for its first WNBA Finals appearance after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in two of the past three seasons. Tickets are available at FeverBasketball.com.
