Helen Darling Takes A Time Out For Reading With Local Children

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Silver Stars guard and children's author Helen Darling will read the book, The Boy Who Was Raised by Librarians by Carla Morris, to children at Johnston Library, 6307 Sun Valley, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22.

Darling also will help the children make thank you cards for people who have influenced them out of construction paper and art supplies. The reading activity is part of the Whataburger What'cha Reading program and is a reward for grand prize winners Chance and Aventine Gully, ages 5 and 2, respectively.

What'cha Reading certificates were sent to each public library branch, as well as the San Antonio Area Boys and Girls Clubs and select area summer school programs. Each certificate contained an entry form and a coupon for a free Justaburger Kid's Meal at Whataburger.
