CHICAGO - The WNBA Chicago Sky (7-15) will play three games this week before the WNBA goes on Olympic hiatus through the end of August. On Tuesday, July 22, the Sky hosts the Indiana Fever (11-11) at 7 p.m. at the UIC Pavilion, in a game that will be an official Olympic send-off for Sky center Sylvia Fowles and Fever forward Tameka Catchings. Fowles is expected to be in the official line-up, in what will be her first game since suffering a knee injury on June 3. On Thursday, July 24 the Sky hits the road to play the Western Conference-leading San Antonio Silver Stars (16-8) at 11:30 a.m. The team then heads to Houston to face the Comets (11-12) on Saturday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, July 16 the Sky lost 66-63 to the Detroit Shock (16-8). The Sky rallied from a 23-point deficit to come within one point, but were unable to earn a victory against the Shock, who are undefeated at home. Jia Perkins contributed 26 points, and Candice Dupree had 12. On Friday, July 18 the Sky defeated the Connecticut Sun (14-10) with a 73-65 home win. Perkins scored 15 points to lead five players who scored in double digits, including Chasity Melvin with 13, K.B. Sharp with 12, Dupree with 11 and rookie Quianna Chaney who added a career-high 10 points. On Sunday, July 20 the Sky faced the Sun again, this time losing 74-67 in Connecticut. Armintie Price led in scoring with 15 points, but the Sky could not overcome the Sun's 9-0 run in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

SKY VS. FEVER HISTORY

The Sky is 2-8 lifetime against the Indiana Fever after dropping the July 2 and July 12 games in Indianapolis. In their most recent match up on July 12, the Sky lost 66-57 despite 19 points from Candice Dupree.

SKY VS. SILVER STARS HISTORY

The Sky is 2-3 lifetime against the San Antonio Silver Stars. In their most recent match up on July 10, the Silver Stars defeated the Sky 75-67 despite 17 points and 7 rebounds from Jia Perkins.

CHICAGO SKY INJURY REPORT - Dominique Canty

Dominique Canty suffered a left knee injury on July 13, against Atlanta at the UIC Pavilion. She is expected to be out for the remaining games prior to the Olympic hiatus, and return to practice during the break.

ROSTER - Sylvia Fowles Returns to Active Roster

After missing a total of 17 games, Sky rookie Sylvia Fowles is expected to return to the court tomorrow night when the Sky take on the Indiana Fever at 7:00PM at the UIC Pavilion. Fowles will be on the active list and dressed to play. She is not expected to start, but she is expected to see minutes for the first time since her injury.

Fowles injured her left knee blocking a shot against the backboard in the third quarter of the Sky's game against the Sparks on Tuesday, June 3. Fowles' block of Delisha Milton Jones' shot was called for a goal tending violation which was the first time the call has been made in WNBA history.

OLYMPIC SEND OFF

The final Chicago Sky home game before the Olympic hiatus begins will be host to the official Olympic send off for the Sky's Sylvia Fowles and Tamika Catchings of the Indiana Fever, both of whom will be playing for U.S. Women's Olympic Basketball team in Beijing.

As part of the Olympic send-off, Fowles and Catchings will be honored in a pre-game ceremony, and will also be presented with official Chicago 2016 shirts specifically designed for Olympians. All Sky fans in attendance will receive a Chicago 2016 bracelet, and Chicago 2016 shirts will be given away throughout the game.

WNBA OLYMPIC HIATUS

The WNBA will be on a league-wide hiatus during the Beijing Olympics. The Sky will resume playing on Thursday, August 28 when they face off against the New York Liberty at 6:30 p.m. at the Madison Square Garden.
