FerryHawks Fall to Barnstormers as Fans Go Mad for Mozzarella
June 10, 2023 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Staten Island FerryHawks News Release
The Staten Island FerryHawks dropped the second game of this series to the Lancaster Barnstormers by a score of 11-0 on Saturday afternoon in Staten Island. It was mozzarella madness night at the ballpark as Italo A&S Fine Foods joined the FerryHawks to host an exclusive mozzarella making class!
After a 12-run performance the night before, the FerryHawk bats fell silent on what was a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the ballpark. Lancaster spent the 2nd to the 5th inning piling on the runs as the FerryHawks seemed to have no answer to their offensive attack.
However, the backend of the FerryHawks bullpen once again looked sharp as James Pazos, Kelsie Whitmore, and Williams Ramirez combined for 2.2 innings, 2 hits, and 0 runs. Whitmore worked a 1-2-3 8th inning as she forced to ground out and a fly out. Ramirez followed her up by whiffing three batters in the 9th.
The FerryHawks and Barnstormers are set to play the rubber match at 1:00PM Sunday to crown a series winner. Sunday is Marvel Super Hero Day at SIUH Community Park and you do not want to miss this one! Get ready for a special Spider-Man character appearance along with a limited edition Marvel/FerryHawks poster giveaway.
