
FerryHawks Drop Two to End Road Trip; Head Home for 6-Game Homestand

The Sunday afternoon series finale featured a matchup between team aces, as the Honey Hunters sent Gunnar Kines to the mound against FerryHawks ace Christian Capuano.
Kines (5-1) had the better day as he went six innings, giving up just four hits and one earned run. Capuano (4-3) took the loss, giving up five earned runs in 5 ? innings.
Honey Hunter's Zach Jarrett crushed his league-leading 17th home run of the season in the bottom of the first to open the scoring for Gastonia. The Honey Hunters would go on to scatter four more runs against Capuano while only giving up one, taking the series finale, 5-1.
The FerryHawk bullpen held Gastonia scoreless with Brooklyn's Christian Allegretti, former Yankee prospect Edgar Santana and Williams Ramirez pitching 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief on Sunday.

NOTES: The FerryHawks return home on Tuesday, June 20 to start a three-game series with the Long Island Ducks, followed by a three-game series with first-place Gastonia Friday through Sunday. On Saturday, June 24, the FerryHawks welcome summer with their "Kick-Off To Summer Celebration Game" followed by their first post-game firework show of the season.
