Ryan Feierabend allowed only a pair of unearned runs as the York Revolution defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 4-2 in front of 3,595 fans at Sovereign Bank Stadium on Friday evening. The Revs, winners of back-to-back games, will go for a third straight victory on Saturday with first pitch at 6:30 p.m.

Southern Maryland drew first blood, but for the second straight night, the Revs answered back immediately, and allowed nothing else the rest of the way.

The Blue Crabs scored the game's first run in the top of the third when Paco Figueroa bunted for a hit with two runners already aboard, and first baseman Chris Nowak's throw sailed wide into the right field bullpen, allowing the first of two unearned runs to come across. Casey Benjamin added a sacrifice fly to center later in the inning, making it an early 2-0 Blue Crabs lead.

The Revs answered back with two of their own on five consecutive hits in the bottom half of the inning. Joe Thurston doubled high off the right field wall and Ramon Castro ripped a hard infield single to third to drive in the two runs.

York left the bases loaded, but took the lead in the bottom of the fifth with an unearned run of their own on Nowak's two-out RBI single high off the left field Arch Nemesis. It was his 15th RBI in his last 11 games played.

Brandon Haveman served a two-out RBI single into left in the bottom of the sixth to add an insurance run.

Feierabend (4-2) worked 6.1 innings to earn the win before giving way to reliever Adam Thomas with two on and one out in the top of the seventh. Thomas promptly recorded an inning-ending double play on a grounder to third off the bat of Brian Barton to silence the threat.

Kris Regas tossed a scoreless eighth, and Ricardo Gomez struck out a pair in a scoreless ninth for his seventh save in as many opportunities.

Blue Crabs starter Hunter Jones (1-4) absorbed the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on 12 hits in his six innings.

Haveman, Thurston, Castro, Andres Perez, and Scott Grimes all had two hits apiece for the Revs. Grimes also scored a pair of runs, stole a base, and made an outstanding diving catch in left center field for the first out in the top of the eighth.

The Revs (47-44, 11-10) will host the Blue Crabs (42-48, 12-8) again on Saturday night with Derrick Gordon (4-4, 5.26) taking the ball for York, opposite Southern Maryland's Matthew Vasquez (6-6, 5.09). It is Star Wars Night, with Postgame Fireworks (Star Wars themed) presented by Sprint. Tickets are available at YorkRevolution.com, (717) 801-HITS and in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office.
