Omaha Beef News Release
BEEF OPEN TRAINING CAMP
On February 22nd, the Beef opened their 2008 training camp. Approximately 40 athletes from across the United States came to Omaha to try and make the roster. Several returners join a flock of newcomers fighting for the spots that are on the 30-man roster. The training camp is being held at the Omaha Sports Complex and will be held until Friday from 6-9 p.m. The Beef encourage their fans to come out and support the team.
BEEF IN COMMUNITY
Over the past month, the team has fulfilled many donation requests for local charity events and functions. In addition, the Beef have also gone back to school in more ways than one. The Prime Dancers made a special appearance at Marian High School's Surprise Day. The event was special for third-year Prime Dancer Sarah Lohr as she returned to her alma mater. Quarterback Chuck Wright and Director of Communications Brad Green spoke at Bellevue West High School's first-ever Career Day. Sales and Marketing Manager Colby Laughhunn recently spoke at Council Bluffs' Abraham Lincoln High School's sports marketing class.
BEEF LOOKING FOR ANTHEM PERFORMERS
The team will be holding National Anthem auditions on March 5th. The auditions will take place at the Whiskey Roadhouse inside of Horseshoe Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Performers must be at least 21 years or older. If participants are younger than 21, they are asked to please contact the Beef office at (402) 346-BEEF (2333). The team encourages people to come try out.
BEEF ALSO LOOKING FOR PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCER
The Beef are also in the process of looking for their next public address announcer. This person is a key piece of the game day puzzle as the announcer gets the crowd involved with the game and also provides the crowd with valuable information. The search received some local buzz as Kevin Kugler and Mike'l Severe held open auditions on their radio show, "Unsportsmanlike Conduct" shortly after the news was announced. Interested people should mail their resumes and sample recordings to the Beef office, 1804 Capitol Avenue, Omaha, NE 68102 by Friday.
BEEF WANT TO REMIND FANS OF 2008 MEAT WAGON
The Beef's Meat Wagon will be up and running again in 2008. However, trips cannot happen without the support of the fans. At least 30 people must go on each trip. The first trip for the 2008 season will be March 22nd against RiverCity. The deadline for the RiverCity trip will be March 6th. The price for the trip will be $85. If you sign up for additional trips, there will be discounts. Contact the Beef office at (402) 346-BEEF for more information today.
