FC Tulsa News Release
Tulsa, Okla. FC Tulsa is pleased to announce the signing of Brazilian center back Ian Carlos Souza Daniel, who joins the club from ABC FC, where he most recently competed in Brazil's Série C. The signing was completed prior to the USL Championship Roster Freeze on Monday, September 8
Ian, 26, brings a wealth of experience from both the Série B and Série C levels of Brazilian football. Over the course of his career, he has played for several of Brazil's most recognized clubs, including Internacional/RS, Ponte Preta/SP, and Guarani/SP.
Known as an athletic and composed defender, Ian adds strength, versatility, and skill on the ball to the FC Tulsa back line. His presence further bolsters the squad as the club continues its push toward postseason success.
"We are excited to welcome Ian to Tulsa," said Caleb Sewell, Sporting Director and General Manager. "He is a strong, athletic center back who is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, and we believe he will be an important piece for us moving forward."
Ian is set to join the squad immediately and will be available for selection this weekend as FC Tulsa hosts Lexington SC on Saturday, October 4, at ONEOK Field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CT, with tickets available at fctulsa.com.
