FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas (Monday, July 24, 2006) - FC Dallas Head Coach Colin Clarke announced today the 20-man roster that will travel to Monterrey, Mexico on Tuesday to take on Tigres UANL in the second leg of the Rio Grande Plate. The game will be played on Wednesday, July 26 from the Estadio Universitario in Monterrey at 8:45 p.m. CT and be broadcast on English and Spanish Radio back to Dallas on 910 am and 1440 am respectively. FCD leads the aggregate-goal series 2-0, having won the first leg at Pizza Hut Park on July 19 with second half goals from Arturo Alvarez and Marcelo Saragosa.
The winner of the Inaugural Rio Grande Plate will be the team with the most combined goals between the two games. If the teams have the same amount of total goals after 90 minutes on Wednesday, the winner of the Plate will be decided by penalty kicks. Away goals will not determine the series winner. Should FCD win, tie or lose by less than one goal, they will win the Rio Grande Plate. If Tigres wins by more than two goals, they will win the Plate.
The FCD management staff will also travel to Monterrey where they will meet with the Tigres executives in a Business Summit. The summit allows for both organizations to share each other's best practices in order to continue learning and improving each other's business operations.
