FC Dallas Schedules July Friendly with Aston Villa
April 1, 2014 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, April 1, 2014) - FC Dallas will host English Premier League side Aston Villa FC at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, presented by MoneyGram at Toyota Stadium.
The game is also presented by associate partners Toyota, Budweiser, Fiesta and SportsDay.
"There will be real value in the tour both on and off the pitch with the commercial and marketing side as well as the community aspect very much on our agenda, as they have been during previous pre-season tours," said Villa CEO Paul Faulkner. "Our previous U.S. tours have been exciting and hugely positive experiences for the club, and I'm sure we will work hard to ensure we achieve further development into a country in which the game is increasingly taking root."
The British side also will train at Toyota Soccer Center July 19-24 with a special open practice plus meet-and-greet planned for FC Dallas season ticket holders.
"We are very excited to be able to bring Aston Villa to Toyota Stadium for a game this summer," said FC Dallas President Dan Hunt. "They represent a quality English Premier League opponent who has been in very good form of late. They are anchored by several players who will represent their respective countries in the 2014 World Cup. Obviously, this will be a very competitive match and we are excited to be able to bring this quality game to our fans."
Tickets to the match start at $19 and go on sale at Noon on Thursday, April 3. Current FC Dallas season ticket holders and FC Dallas corporate partners will receive an e-mail on Wednesday with special ticket options for this match.
Aston Villa will travel to Houston following its match with FC Dallas to face the Dynamo as well.
"Commercially, we are always looking to grow the club, while remaining true to the values we espouse as Villa people," said Faulkner. "I see this as a wonderful opportunity and I thank the staff of FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo for the courtesy and welcome they have already shown us in helping to put these games together."
