FC Dallas News Release
FRISCO, Texas (Jan. 25, 2011) - FC Dallas fans can get an early look at their 2011 squad and lend a helping hand to Kids Across America when the Dallas side hosts Chivas USA at Pizza Hut Park on March 12. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
The charity match, which kicks off exactly one week ahead of the 2011 season opener against the Chicago Fire, will benefit both Kids Across America and the FC Dallas Foundation with the two charities splitting the gate proceeds.
Tickets are $10 with all seats general admission. Fans who have 2011 FC Dallas ticket packages, including season or flex plans, will have their season seats reserved for the match free of charge, but any charitable donations at their discretion are appreciated.
The FC Dallas Foundation strives to positively impact the health and well-being of disadvantaged youth in the DFW Metroplex. The Foundation has partnered with Kids Across America, which focuses on building Christian leaders by encouraging, equipping and empowering youth and their mentors through camping and education, to raise funds to send local youth to their camps.
As the reigning Western Conference Champions, FC Dallas earned its first trip to the MLS Cup in 2010 following a record-setting year that saw the club set MLS marks for its 19-game unbeaten streak and 12-game road unbeaten streak. The Dallas side also tied the MLS mark for fewest losses in an MLS season with four, while the Dallas defense allowed the fewest goals against in club history with only 28 through 30 games. FC Dallas opens the 2011 campaign on its home field at Pizza Hut Park on March 19 against Brimstone Cup rival Chicago Fire.
