FC Dallas Goalkeeper Maarten Paes Named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Matchday for Matchday 4

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas goalkeeper Maarten Paes has been named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Matchday presented by Audi for Matchday 4 after his Saturday night performance in the 2-1 win against Sporting Kansas City at Toyota Stadium. This is Paes' first Team of the Matchday appearance this season and third overall after two Team of the Week bench mentions during the 2022 season.

Paes, 24, made two saves which included a penalty kick sequence that started in the 61st minute and ended in the 66th minute with one PK save. Paes fouled Sporting Kansas City's Willy Agada inside the box in the 61st minute which led to a yellow card for the FC Dallas goalkeeper and a penalty kick for Kansas City. Paes saved the PK taken by Agada, but the save would be overturned for goalkeeper encroachment following Video Review. The PK was retaken by SKC's Erik Thommy and Paes guessed correctly again to deny the visiting team a goal.

This is the third time in 2023 FC Dallas has earned MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Matchday honors.
