Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville Soccer Club returns to GEODIS Park this Saturday, March 25 to host Eastern Conference foe FC Cincinnati at 7:30 p.m. CT. Limited tickets remain available at www.NashvilleSC.com/Tickets.
Nashville SC (2W-1L-1D, 7 pts.), currently in fourth place, is off to its best start in club history through four matches, having won both matches at GEODIS Park in 2023, and outscored its opponents 4-0 in Music City.
The match versus Cincinnati awakes a rivalry that for some fans dates back to the USL Championship days. Head Coach Gary Smith has managed every match for Nashville SC against FC Cincinnati, while former players on the club's USL Championship side Kosuke Kimura and Matt Pickens now serve on the club's MLS coaching staff.
The last remaining player from Nashville's USL Championship era on the club's MLS roster to have played against Cincinnati in both leagues is Taylor Washington. Since arriving in MLS, Nashville SC has not lost to Cincinnati, owning a 2W-0L-2D record with a plus six goal differential.
Another player to follow this week is Jacob Shaffelburg who has four goals in seven career matches at GEODIS Park, including a goal in each of the first two home matches this season.
Nashville SC and 104.5 The Zone will debut the NSC Backstage show at 8 p.m. CT on Wednesday. Featuring the voices of Will Boling, Lucas Panzica and Jalil Anibaba, fans will be able to listen to interviews with Head Coach Gary Smith and Taylor Washington, as well as Huntsville City FC's Head Coach Jack Collison, whose journey in MLS NEXT Pro will start on Sunday, March 26 at Crown Legacy FC.
