
FC Cincinnati Defeat New York, 2-0 and Knock Red Bulls out of Tournament

FC Cincinnati (2-3-0, 6 pts) take three points from the New York Red Bulls (2-2-1, 7 pts)and advance to the Knockout Round with a 2-0 win on Wednesday night at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Cincinnati ended the first half with a Yuya Kubo tally in the 43rd minute and followed up early in the second with a New York own goal to double the lead in the 56th minute.
Since 2015, New York is 14-42-11 when allowing the first goal.
The Red Bulls tallied multi-goal regular-season loses for the first time since August 31-September 15, 2019 following loses to Seattle and Colorado.
Connecticut native Ben Mines made his first appearance with the first team since his MLS debut on March 10, 2018.
New York is 52-45-23 all-time in the month of July. New York has scored 192 goals in the seventh month of the year and allowed 184.
