Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz will host the Arkansas Twisters on Saturday, April 5th at 7:05 p.m. on Compassionate Care Hospice Field at Ford Center. For their first home game of the 2008 season, the Yard Dawgz welcome the Langston University Lion Marching Band onto the field. The band, which has won numerous awards, will be featured during halftime.
The Langston University Lion Marching band is known for their choreography, traditional high stepping style, and wide musical taste. The nearly 150 piece band is sought after for bowl games, parades, government ceremonies and marching competitions across the nation and abroad. Langston University is the only historically black college in Oklahoma and the westernmost historically black college in the United States.
"We are very excited to have the Langston University Marching Band as our featured halftime entertainment this Saturday. We have had such positive responses from their past performances that it was an easy decision to ask them back for our 2008 home opener. I am positive that they will put on a great show that you won't want to miss," commented General Manager Christie Cook.
Bring your family to the newest Yard Dawgz attraction, Fan Fest. Beginning at 5:00 p.m., Fan Fest will feature inflatables and other family-friendly activities on Reno Avenue, north of Ford Center. The Fan Fest activities are free and open to the public. Come early to enjoy music from local marching bands and to be the first to see the 2008 Yard Dawgz!
