Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release

FARGO - Ben Meyers continued his offensive romp, the Fargo Force held the Dubuque Fighting Saints in check throughout, and the Force led the way throughout en route to a 5-1 win over the Saints on Saturday at Scheels Arena.

Meyers struck twice, for his second and third goals of the weekend, to stake the Force to the early 2-0 lead. At the 5:34 mark, he jumped on a loose puck after the Fighting Saints were congested defensively and converted the breakaway chance to give the Force a 1-0 lead. His follow-up act came six minutes later on a quickly developing 2-on-1 break, as William Fallstrom's initial shot was stopped by Cole Weaver, but Meyers pounced on the rebound to give Fargo the 2-0 lead after one.

Consecutive penalties to an entire penalty killing unit of Josh Maniscalco, Quinn Preston, Taylor Schneider and Brendan Bushy put the Force on a 5-on-3 power play to begin the second period, and the Force converted within 47 seconds. A centering pass by Meyers conntected with Sammy Steele to give Fargo the 3-0 lead early.

Ty Farmer and Fallstrom scored goals of their own in the final 90 seconds of the second period. Farmer's followed a defensive zone turnover, and Fallstrom converted on a shorthanded break with teammate Garrett Van Wyhe, which capped the scoring for Fargo.

Bushy got the goal back for the Fighting Saints on a seeing-eye point shot at the 6:42 mark of the third period, and the Saints got on the board. But Strauss Mann, Fargo's goaltender, paved the way all weekend. He made 22 saves in Saturday's effort, and combined with his 25 saves last night, and picked up the win in both efforts.

The Fighting Saints return home to take on the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday, March 23 for DYHA Night, and the Des Moines Buccaneers on Saturday, March 24 for Pucks & Pinot Night. For tickets to these two big home games, go to DubuqueFightingSaints.com.
