Fargo Force Announce Addition of Hockey Academy

FARGO, ND - The Fargo Force front office staff announced today the addition of the Fargo Force Hockey Academy. The academy will provide year round skill development opportunities for youth hockey players in the area of all ages. Josh Bjorlin and Ian Leier, formerly of Interstate Hockey, will run the academy set to begin on June 11, 2018.

Josh Bjorlin has been coaching hockey in the area for ten years. He has coached teams ranging from mites to high school and most recently coached the Bantam AA Fargo Freeze. Bjorlin has traveled the country coaching camps for players of all ages and brought that knowledge to the area in forming Interstate Hockey where he has been running camps for the past four years.

"I am excited to help build hockey culture at Fargo Force Hockey Academy based on fun, innovation, and hard work," said Bjorlin.

Ian Leier is originally from Grand Forks and has been coaching hockey in the area for the past nine years. He coached Bantam A and AA in Grand Forks and coached Bantam AA Fargo Freeze this past season. He has been coaching with Interstate Hockey since its inception.

"I look forward to adding to the local hockey culture by expanding player's skill sets and hockey knowledge within a fun environment," said Leier.

"We excited to bring experienced, high level coaching to the greater Fargo area with the addition of the academy," said Fargo Force President Jon Kram. "The Fargo Force Hockey Academy looks forward to being a cornerstone of skill development for local teams, groups, and individuals within the greater Fargo area for years to come."

The academy will be based out of Farmer's Union Insurance Center, attached to Scheels Arena. Off-ice training, with the newest and most innovative equipment, will be offered through their programming as well. The Fargo Force are back at Scheels Arena on Saturday, April 14 for their final regular season home game. The Force are still in position to potentially receive a first round bye and advance directly to the Western Conference Semi-Finals, otherwise they will host the first round at Scheels Arena next week.
