Brockton, Mass. - 1B Melvin Falu went 3-for-4 with two homers, three runs scored and four RBI as the Brockton Rox went ahead 9-0 after three innings and rolled to a 10-2 victory over the Pittsfield Colonials in a Can-Am League contest at Campanelli Stadium on Sunday, completing the sweep of the three-game series.

The Rox (10-9 second half, 37-29 overall) put four runs on the board in the first inning, as DH Scott Wearne reached on an error, Falu singled, and RF Keith Brachold walked; 3B Phillip Cuadrado then hit a bases-clearing single to make the score 3-0. Two batters later, LF Mike Conroy singled home Cuadrado to add to the Brockton lead.

In the second, Pittsfield (11-9, 31-36) retired the first two Rox hitters of the inning, before Wearne singled, 2B Shawn Williams walked, and Falu brought both home with a three-run blast.

Brockton increased its lead to 9-0 in the third with back-to-back RBI doubles from SS Dominic Ramos and CF Chris Valencia.

The Colonials finally got on the board in the fifth, when RF Daniel Carte doubled home 2B Danny Bomback, but the Rox returned fire with Falu's sixth-inning solo blast, his league-leading 16th of the season, making the score 10-1.

Pittsfield scored the game's final run with C Scott Knazek's homer in the ninth.

For Brockton, Conroy and Ramos also had two hits on the day, as did the Colonials' SS Matt Nandin and Bomback.
