Falcons Name Team Captains For 08-09 Season

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that center Tim Sestito has been named team captain of the Falcons for the 2008-09 season. The Falcons also announced that defenseman Jake Taylor and center Ryan Potulny have been named assistant captains.
Sestito is entering his second season with the Falcons and overall it will be his fourth professional campaign. The 6'0", 195-pound native of Rome, NY spent the entire 2007-08 season with the Falcons collecting seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points and 175 penalty minutes in 77 games played. Sestito was originally signed by the Edmonton Oilers as a free agent on August 1, 2006.
Both Taylor and Potulny are entering their first year with the Falcons. Taylor spent the entire 2007-08 season with the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack registering three goals and 10 assists for 13 points and 129 penalty minutes in 77 games played. Potulny is entering his third full professional season after splitting his first two professional campaigns between the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms and NHL's Philadelphia Flyers.
The Springfield Falcons open their regular season schedule on Saturday, October 11 at Hartford as they battle the Wolf Pack. The Falcons play a pair of road games at Providence on Sunday, October 12 and Friday, October 17 before playing their home opener on Saturday, October 18 when they host the Portland Pirates.
