Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team has made several roster moves prior to this afternoon's game against the Las Vegas Wranglers at Orleans Arena.
The Falcons have signed defenseman Kam White to a contract, and traded defenseman Tyler Kindle to Las Vegas in exchange for left wing Lucas Lawson. In addition, right wings Brady Leisenring and Jonathan Tremblay returned to the Falcons today from the American Hockey League's Worcester Sharks. All four players will be in uniform for Fresno today.
A sixth round selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft, White has played 593 career professional games, totaling 103 points and 2,122 penalty minutes. In 448 career games in the ECHL, he has amassed 1,627 penalty minutes, which ranks seventh all-time in league history. White spent the last two seasons in the United Hockey League, and participated in the 2005 UHL All-Star Game as a member of the Flint Generals. He split last season between Flint and Port Huron, and coached the Flags for the final 19 games of the season.
Lawson has played in 33 games for the Wranglers this season, posting six goals and adding 11 assists. The fourth-year pro has seen ECHL action with the Charlotte Checkers and Long Beach Ice Dogs, AHL action with the Hartford WolfPack and Hamilton Bulldogs, and also logged time in the Finnish National League. Lawson played four years of college hockey at the University of Maine, where he played for Falcons' head coach Matt Thomas from 2000-02 during Thomas' stint as an assistant coach with the Black Bears.
Leisenring tallied five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in nine games for the Sharks, while Tremblay amassed five penalty minutes in three games with Worcester.
