
Falcons Host Admirals at 3 pm

The Springfield Falcons and Norfolk Admirals meet for the second consecutive weekend at The Nest as the Falcons try and even the season series at one win each. The Falcons enter Sunday's action looking to rebound from a 7-2 loss suffered on Saturday night in Manchester, NH. After Matt Calvert scored on the Falcons' first shot of the game just 1:04 into the first period, the Monarchs when on to score six unanswered goals, including a pair from Marc-Andre Cliche.
The Falcons remain in the middle of the pack in the Atlantic Division. Springfield has a record of 12-12-0-1 good for 25 points and fifth place in the division. Springfield is one point behind Connecticut and two points behind Worcester for third place.
Norfolk enters today's action concluding a six-game road trip that has lasted the last 10 days throughout the Northeast. The Admirals are 4-1 on the trip thus far and for the season they have a record of 14-6-3-1 good for 32 points and second place in the East Division. Since the Falcons last saw Norfolk on November 27, the Admirals have added former Falcon players Blair Jones and Mathieu Roy to their roster as both players were assigned to Norfolk by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Falcons center Chris D'Alvise has points in three straight games collecting three assists in that span.
Matt Calvert leads the Falcons in goals with 11 and he has goals in back-to-back games this weekend.
Grant Clitsome is on a two-game scoring streak having collected two goals and one assist in that span.
Norfolk's Blair Jones has goals in two straight games since rejoining the team from the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Mike Angelidis is on a two-game scoring streak having picked up three goals and three assists in his last two games. Angelidis had a five-point effort on Friday night in Manchester recording two goals and three assists. In his last four games, he has five goals and four assists for nine points.
Mathieu Roy had a three-assist effort on Friday night in Manchester in his first game back with Norfolk after missing seven games on recall to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Goaltender Cedrick Desjardins has won his last six starts and for the season he is second in the AHL with 10 wins.
