Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons held a ‘Beat Screech' promotion as part of the Mutt & Jeff golf tournament at the Springfield Country Club Monday afternoon, raising funds for the newly-established Springfield Falcons Charitable Foundation. The mission of the foundation, which was introduced at a press conference February 10, is to better the quality of life in the Springfield community by promoting education, exercise and health.

With a five-dollar donation to the team's philanthropic extension, ‘Beat Screech' participants were given the chance to out-drive the Falcons' mascot on the second hole. All winners received a ticket voucher to the team's opening-night home game, set for Saturday, October 5 at the MassMutual Center.

"On behalf of the Falcons organization, we would like to thank all those who participated in Monday's Beat Screech event," President of the Springfield Falcons Charitable Foundation Sarah Pompea said. "The team appreciates the local support and will continue to give back to the Springfield community."

Fans are invited back to the MassMutual Center in 2013-14 to watch the reigning Northeast Division-champion Falcons compete in their 20th Anniversary Season. Adult season-ticket packages start as low as $13 per game. To reserve your seats for the upcoming season, call (413) 739-GOAL (4625) or visit the team office inside the MassMutual Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
