Blackhawks Agree to Terms With Stanton

Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Ryan Stanton on a one-year contract.

Stanton, 23, made his National Hockey League debut with Chicago on April 27 at St. Louis, recording a +1 plus/minus rating and two penalty minutes. He registered a career-high 22 assists and 25 points in 73 regular-season games with the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs in 2012-13 and ranked third on the club with a career-best +16 rating.

The St. Albert, Alberta, native has tallied 60 points (9G, 51A) in 224 career games with the IceHogs from 2009 to 2013 and has skated in two career Calder Cup Playoff games.

The d-man was named the IceHogs top defenseman each of the past two seasons. Stanton ranks third all-time on Rockford's games played list and most among all defensemen.

Stanton was originally signed by Chicago as a free agent on March 12, 2010.
