Falcons Forward To Join Mentoring Program

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that #18 Colin McDonald is joining the New England Farm Workers' Council / School Based Mentoring Program starting Tuesday, January 12, 2010. McDonald will volunteer on a regular basis to be a mentor for a local youngster in the Greater Springfield area.

"I am really excited to join this special program and help out kids in any way possible," said McDonald, who is in his third season with the Falcons. "I did some volunteer work in this area last summer and it really gave me a good feeling to see the impact we can have on these youngsters. I am really looking forward to getting started as quickly as possible."

New England Farm Workers Council/School Based Mentoring Program provides mentoring services to Elementary and Middle school students for one hour once a week at their assigned school. This special program can provide children with positive role models and allow them to succeed to their full potential.
