
Devils Deal Pirates Narrow Setback

Portland, Maine - Patrick Davis and Alexander Vasyunov scored power-play goals to lead the Lowell Devils to a narrow
2-1 win over the Portland Pirates in an American Hockey League game played tonight in front of 2,772 at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
Mike McKenna helped the two goals stand with 29 saves between the pipes for the Devils, who improved to 24-15-3-0
on the season.
T.J. Brennan netted his first career AHL goal to account for the Pirates offense. Portland slipped to 19-15-5-2 with the
loss.
Lowell led 1-0 after one on a power-play goal by Davis late in the opening frame. The two teams were scoreless in the
second. The two teams traded power-play goals in the third with Vasyunov giving the Devils a 2-0 advantage seven minutes into the period and Brennan answering six minutes later to complete the scoring.
The Pirates out shot the devils 30-22 in the game as Jhonas Enroth took the loss.

The Pirates return to action Friday when the Worcester Sharks come to the Cumberland County Civic Center for a 7 p.m.
