Falcons Fall To Bruins 4-1

Springfield Falcons News Release


The Springfield Falcons lost to the Providence Bruins 4-1in Marlborough, MA on Wednesday night. The Falcons will now host the Worcester Sharks on Friday night at the MassMutual Center, followed by a rematch against the Bruins on Saturday at "The Nest."



In the second period, Springfield's Bryan Lerg tied the score at 1-1 early in the frame, but Providence's Adam McQuaid gave the Bruins a 2-1 lead with a power play marker midway though the second period.



The Bruins added a pair of third period goals, one into an empty net.

GAME NOTES



The game's first fight occured early in the first period as Springfield's Sean McMorrow and Providence's Thomas Harrison battled to a draw.



The game became chippy in the second period as McMorrow and Harrison had their second fight, followed by Springfield's Garet Hunt and Providence's Mike Egener. Falcons defenseman Milan Maslonka and Bruins defenseman Scott Fletcher went toe-to-toe followed by Sebastien Bisaillon and Jordan Knackstedt dropping the gloves.



Finally, Ryan Constant and Levi Nelson had the period's last fight.
