Minnesota Wild assigns forwards Hamilton, Kalus to Houston Aeros

Saint Paul, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned LW Ryan Hamilton and LW Petr Kalus to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Aeros training camp roster now stands at 40 players.

Hamilton, 23 (4/15/85), enters his third full season with Houston. During the 2008-09 campaign Hamilton ranked second on the team with 39 points (20 goals, 19 assists) and recorded 38 penalty minutes (PIM). His 20 goals also ranked second for the Aeros. The 6-foot-2, 219 pound native of Oshawa, Ont., skated in 72 games in his sophomore season and more than doubled his point production of 16 points his rookie year.

Kalus, 21 (6/29/87), played in 58 games last season with the Aeros tallying 18 points (eight goals, ten assists) and 57 PIM. The 6-foot-1, 197 pound right wing joined the Aeros as part of trade with the Boston Bruins. Entering his second season with the Aeros, the Ostrava, Czech Republic, native was originally selected by the Bruins in the second round (39 overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
