Moose reduce roster by 12 players

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have reduced their roster by 12 players. As a result, the Moose now have 32 players on their roster.

The following players were released:

Trent Campbell Left Wing (South Carolina Stingrays - ECHL)

Jonathan Murray Goaltender (Ontario Reign - ECHL)

Krister Toews Goaltender (Wichita Thunder - CHL)

Mike Wuchterl Left Wing

The following players were re-assigned to the respective hockey clubs:

Jordie Benn Defence Victoria Salmon Kings (ECHL)

Rejean Beauchemin Goaltender Idaho Steelheads (ECHL)

Patrick Bordeleau Left Wing Augusta Lynx (ECHL)

Wes Cunningham Defence Florida Everblades (ECHL)

Jacob Dietrich Centre Victoria Salmon Kings (ECHL)

Blaine Jarvis Centre Idaho Steelheads (ECHL)

Matt Kelly Defence Victoria Salmon Kings (ECHL)

Chris Robertson Left Wing New Mexico Scorpions (CHL)

The Moose now travel to St. John's, NF to participate in a pre-season tournament against the Hamilton Bulldogs and defending North Division champion Toronto Marlies. The Moose will play the Marlies on Thursday, Oct. 2nd and the game can be heard live on CJOB 680 AM at 4:30 CT. Then on Saturday, Oct. 4th, Manitoba will play the Bulldogs - also at 4:30 CT - with the two top teams then competing in a the final on Sunday, Oct. 5th at 11:30 a.m. CT. Attached is the roster of the 26 players making the trip to St. John's.

The Moose will open their 13th regular season on Friday, Oct. 10th against the Bulldogs at the MTS Centre. Gametime is 7:30 p.m. Fans can buy tickets to that game and all other individual Moose games at all Ticketmaster locations or by calling 780-3333 or by going online at www.ticketmaster.ca or www.moosehockey.com.
